Crooked Lake is located in Sylvan Township, Michigan, 32 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor. Detroit is just over an hour east, Lansing is an hour northwest, and Ann Arbor is 23 miles southeast.

A few smaller airfields are nearby, but the closest major airport is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, typically 42 minutes away. Emergency care can be provided at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, 18 minutes away.
